Hell You Talmbout

I’m a couple of days behind on this week’s Monday Music, but I wanted to be sure to share this track this week.

Janelle Monáe, along with members of the Wondaland Arts Society, released this protest song last Friday.

It’s a simple track…the minimal rhythms are used as the canvas for the chanting of names of of Black Americans killed by police officers and others. The result is a powerful, emotional message of the struggle being fought by the #BlackLivesMatter movement and supporters.
