Get Hurt

There simply isn’t a bad The Gaslight Anthem album.

With clear punk ties (but also to that of rock and roll standards), TGA meshes the strong emotional angles of their sound with lyrics triggering stirring sing-alongs and reminiscings found in darkened townie bars and late-night wanderings.

At any moment, I can grab some Gaslight from my collection, crank it up, and forget the world.  So I’m very excited to hear that the boys of TGA are releasing a new album in August, titled Get Hurt.

August 19th is the date, but you can preorder now with plenty of variations to meet all of your needs, from the requisite vinyl to awesome t-shirt packages.

This past week was the debut of the first single from the new album (available immediately when you preorder the album):

While we wait for more from the new album, if you’re not familiar, you should check out one of my favorites from the last album:

You can pick up the full Handwritten album, as well as the rest of the Gaslight library on iTunes and Amazon.

The band will also be hitting the road with, depending on the city, the likes of Against Me!, Jimmy Eat World, Deer Tick, Bayside, and Twopointeight.  Head over to Consequence Of Sound or Pitchfork for those details.
